Denmark Pony Club 2026 Combined Training Highpoint Competition Series Denmark Equestrian Grounds: Beveridge Rd, Denmark Day 1 – 29th March Day 2 - 24th May Day 3 – 26th July What is Combined Training? A Combined Training Competition is a kind of Combined Test Competition, comprising "two of the three tests of a horse trial", for which Combined Training uses Dressage and Show Jumping. •This competition is run under PCWA Eventing rules for Combined Training 2025 (Appendix VII). •The same horse and rider must complete both tests. Elimination from one test entails elimination from the competition. One combined dressage test and showjumping height per horse per day. •A maximum of 2 horses can be ridden in a day. •To ride in the PCWA classes, riders must be financial junior or senior members of an affiliated pony club and ride in their formal uniform including v-neck jumper, shirt and tie. •To ride in the Open classes, riders must be aged 18 years and over and hold PCWA Open Rider membership, mounted coach or adult rider membership with a PCWA affiliated club, hold a competition license with PCWA or purchase a one event competition membership. Open riders may ride in attire as outlined in the PCWA Gear Checking Manual. •Plaiting is preferred. (Compulsory for Day 3 Sunday, 26th July.) •Please present in formal riding attire to the presentations. How is it Scored? The total score is reached by adding together penalty marks incurred in each test. The winner is the competitor with the lowest total penalty marks. In the event of a draw, the rider combination with the best dressage score wins. If equality still exists, the closest to optimum time (under the time set) in the jumping test determines the result. Prizes – Ribbons awarded to overall placegetters to 6th place for each class. Prizes given to third place. •Championship Highpoint Award – PCWA Classes- Horse and rider combinations placing at each series will receive points towards the highpoint award for the height ridden. Eligible for one height only. A rug will be awarded to the highpoint champion for the classes PCWA 45cm to 1.05m. A trophy will be awarded to the highpoint champion for the up to 25cm class. Highpoint rosettes awarded to third place. Highpoint winners must have competed at the final day to qualify for the Highpoint Awards. Open Riders – A rug will be awarded to the best performed open rider for the series. Rosettes awarded to third place. •Off The Track Awards – Retired racehorses, untrialled & unraced horses are eligible to win OTT awards at each event. Passport numbers must be supplied. Leaderboard awards for Senior and Junior Best Performed OTT across the series will also be awarded. Horse’s Age - A horses/pony may compete at this event from the beginning of the calendar year in which it turns 5 years. The onus is on the Owner/Rider to provide proof of Age. Helper Duties – All riders to nominate a helper over the age of 16 years. There will be limited ‘self-help’ positions available. These have to be arranged directly with the event Organisers prior to entry. Failure to provide a helper may result in elimination. Canteen – Canteen available from mid-morning to afternoon. Please collect lunches by 1.30pm. Yards – Yards are available to use. Camping – Camping is available through the Denmark Equestrian Management Group. (Facebook) Dogs – No dogs. Withdrawals – A refund of entry fees minus a $10 admin fee for withdrawals prior to or on the day of the event with submission of a vet certificate or doctor’s certificate. First Aid -Please note there will be no ambulance service at this event. A first aid service will be available. Draw: The draw will be emailed to competitors by Monday 23rd March. Disclaimer of Liability: Neither the Organising Committee of any event to which these rules apply nor Pony Club Western Australia (PCWA) accepts any liability for any accident, damage, injury, or illness to horses, riders, ground, spectators or any other person or property whatsoever. Reservation of right: The Organiser reserves the right to (i) cancel any class or event, (ii) divide any class, (iii) transfer competitors between sections of or a class, (iv) alter the advertised times, and (v) refuse any entry, with or without stating the reason.
