2025 Combined Training HighpointCompetition Series

What is Combined Training? A Combined Training Competition is akind of Combined Test Competition, comprising "two of the three tests of ahorse trial", for which Combined Training uses Dressage and Show Jumping.

·      This competition is run under PCWA Eventingrules for Combined Training 2025 (Appendix VII).

·      The same horse and rider must completeboth tests. Elimination from one test entails elimination from the competition.One combined dressage test and showjumping height per horse per day.

·      A maximum of 2 horses can be ridden ina day.

·      To ride in the PCWA classes,riders must be financial junior or senior members of an affiliated pony cluband ride in their formal uniform including v-neck jumper, shirt and tie.

·      To ride in the Openclasses, riders must be aged 18 years and over and hold PCWA Open Ridermembership, mounted coach or adult rider membership with a PCWA affiliated club,hold a competition license with PCWA or purchase a one event competitionmembership. Open riders may ride in attire as outlined in the PCWA GearChecking Manual.

·      Plaiting is preferred. (Compulsory forDay 3 Sunday, 27^th July.)

·      Please present in formal riding attireto the presentations.

How is it Scored?

The total score is reached by adding togetherpenalty marks incurred in each test. The winner is the competitor with the lowesttotal penalty marks. In the event of a draw, the rider combination with thebest dressage score wins. If equality stillexists, the closest to optimum time (under the time set) in the jumping testdetermines the result.

Prizes– Ribbonsawarded to overall placegetters to 6^th place for each class. Prizesgiven to third place.

·      ChampionshipHighpoint Award – PCWA Classes- Horse and ridercombinations placing at each series will receive points towards the highpointaward for the height ridden. Eligible for one height only. A rug will beawarded to the highpoint champion for the classes PCWA 45cm to1.05m. A trophy will be awarded to the highpoint champion for the up to 25cmclass. Highpoint rosettes awarded to third place. Highpoint winners must have competed on the final day to qualify for theHighpoint Awards. Open Riders – A rug will be awarded to thebest performed open rider for the series. Rosettes awarded to third place.

·      Off The Track Awards – Retiredracehorses, untrialled & unraced horses are eligible to winOTT awards at each event. Passport numbers must be supplied. Leaderboard awardsfor Best Performed OTT across the series will also be awarded.

Horse’s Age - Ahorses/pony may compete at this event from the beginning of the calendar yearin which it turns 5 years. The onus is on the Owner/Rider to provide proof ofAge.

Helper Duties– All riders to nominate a helper over the age of 16 years. There will belimited ‘self-help’ positions available. These have to be arranged directlywith the event Organisers prior to entry. Failure to provide a helper mayresult in elimination.

Canteen– Canteen available from mid-morning to afternoon. Please collect lunches by1.30pm.

Yards –Yards are available to use.

Camping – Camping is available through the DenmarkEquestrian Management Group. (Facebook)

Dogs– No dogs.

Withdrawals– A refund of entry fees minus a $10 admin fee for withdrawals prior to or onthe day of the event with submission of a vet certificate or doctor’scertificate.

First Aid-Please note there will be no ambulance service at this event. A first aidservice will be available.

Draw: Thedraw will be emailed to competitors by Wednesday 19^th March.

Reservation of right: The Organiser reserves theright to (i) cancel any class or event, (ii) divide any class, (iii) transfercompetitors between sections of or a class, (iv) alter the advertised times,and (v) refuse any entry, with or without stating the reason.

Classes

Pleasenote: Competitors can only enter one showjumping round per horse.
