Supreme Sashes Area One Horsemanship

Time: 8.30am Gear Check and walk the course. 9am Start

Order: Junior 9-13yrs     Intermediate 13-17yrs    Associates 17-25yrs

Entry Fee: $25 per Rider.

The competition is scored over 6 phases comprising of 19 efforts.

The winner of each section will receive a Champion Sash and trophy kindly donated by Supreme Sashes. Ribbons to sixth place in each group.

All competitors receive a commemorative sash. 

A full canteen will be available run by Woodlands Park Pony Club.

Pony Club rules will be strictly enforced.

1.     One Horse One Rider One Rider One Horse applies.

2.     THE ORGANISERS WILL NOT SUPPLY A LEAD HORSE.

3.     Full Pony Club Uniform to be worn.

4.     All riders must be financial members of the Pony Club they are representing and have attended 3 Instructional Rally Days. All entries will be checked.

5.     The mount used in competition must be the usual mount of the competitor and have been the property of the financial member of the club for no less than 30 days prior to competition. Proof to be supplied if requested.

6.     In the event of equal scores for individual places a count back in the following order will be used.

1st count back  judge 4

2nd count back judge 2

3rd count back judge 1

4th count back  judge3

5th count back judge5

6th count back  judge 6

7.     Having entered the competition no competitor may leave until they have completed every phase unless they elect to retire.

8.     No strapper or assistant is permitted in arena except in the event of an accident or mishap, when the judge may indicate their approval.

9.     If a whip is required for any phase of competition the rider MUST carry the whip through ALL PHASES.

10.  No equipment may be changed during the contest, with the following exceptions:

·        Riders may apply leg protection for the jumping phase, which should be placed with the relevant judge’s steward prior to the start of competition.

·        A back protector may be used for the jumping phase, this must be placed with the relevant judge’s steward prior to the start of competition.

11.  A loading rope and long whip will be available at Judge 2 for float loading if needed.

Walk a half circle. Sitting trot a half circle

Canter a figure of eight, simple change to the off side, Flying change to the near side. ( 9-13 simple changes both ways)

Gallop a circle to the left, half turn on the haunches 180 degrees, gallop a circle to the right, halt. Each circle to start with a gallop from a standing start. ( 9-13 do NOT do this section)
